Promectin Plus is a broad-spectrum treatment and control for internal parasites in horses. It is a fast-acting horse wormer that effectively treats and controls various species of tapeworms, large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, neck threadworms, large-mouthed stomach worms, bots, lungworms, and intestinal threadworms. It effectively controls skin lesions caused by Habronema and Draschia spp., cutaneous larvae (summer sores), and microfilariae of Onchocerca spp. (cutaneous onchocerciasis). It comes in an easy-to-administer paste form, which makes the administration convenient. It is suitable for all horses, including foals, yearlings, stallions, and pregnant mares.

Promectin Plus combines abamectin, a member of the avermectin group of compounds, with praziquantel. Abamectin works against gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and cutaneous nematodes, bots, and external parasites. It causes the paralysis and death of these parasites by depolarizing their nerve and muscle cells. On the other hand, praziquantel is effective against all species of tapeworms. It kills them by causing a rapid rise in cell membrane permeability.
