SENTINEL FOR DOGS HEARTWORMS, WORMS, AND FLEA TREATMENT

Sentinel flavored tablets for dogs are beef flavored chews that treat gastrointestinal worms, breaks flea life cycle and prevents gnarly heartworm infestations. These monthly chews are exceptionally effective in breaking the flea life cycle and preventing re-infestation. Recommended by most of the vets, the oral treatment inhibits the growth of heartworm larvae i.e. microfilaria and kills roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. The treatment is safe for the puppies 8 weeks of age or more and weighing at least 2 lbs or more.

The active ingredients, Lufenuron, and Milbemycin Oxime work individually on fleas and worms. Lufenuron, which is an insect growth regulator, breaks the flea-like cycle by inhibiting the production of chitin which restricts the flea larvae to develop the hard outer shell, as a result, the insect dies from dehydration after molting. Whereas, Milbemycin oxime kills worms and microfilaria by opening the sensitive chloride channels leading to Hyperpolarization and hindering of nerve signal transfer.

• Sentinel is available in four different color-coded packs depending on the size and weight of the dog.

• The oral treatment should be fed after a single bedtime meal once a month.
• Beef flavored tablets can be given as a treat or mixed with the food and make sure the pet finishes the entire dosage.
• Feed Breeding females at the mating time, and pregnant dogs prior to whelping and then every month.

• This is a prescription medicine.
• In some cases, adverse reactions like vomiting, diarrhea, depression/lethargy or pruritus have been observed, however, they are self-limiting.
• Before starting the medication, have your veterinarian confirm, by a simple test, that your dog does not have heartworm as some mild, transient, shock-like reactions have occurred when treating heartworm positive dogs.
